WHAT IS LCHB?

Love & Care & Help The Babies (LCHB) was established in 1998 by then-seven-year-old Sarah Wolfson. The main mission of LCHB is to give mothers with new babies a fresh start at motherhood. Often, the items we receive are the only things a new baby will get. LCHB collects baby items through drives, “baby showers,” and other special events at schools, places of worship, and other locations. These items are sorted, bagged, and taken to the Center for the Vulnerable Child at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where they are distributed to mothers and other foundations around the area.

LCHB has also reached out to other communities in need. Most recently, the organization supported Hurricane Katrina relief by purchasing baby items and purchasing food for victims. Two pallets of baby food were delivered to a distribution center in Mississippi.

Before LCHB established itself as a foundation, Sarah was awarded the “Millennium Dreamers” award from the Disney Corporation and McDonald’s. This award was given for community service projects leading the way into the new millennium. LCHB has been a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) foundation for over a year.
